ABOUT THE COMPANY – POWER GROUP
The Power Group, established by Graham Power in 1983, is one of South Africa’s largest privately owned construction firms. The company supply civil; building; roads; project engineering; property development and turnkey housing services via their group companies, namely Power Developments and Power Construction.
Since its humble beginnings, the company has built residential property, office blocks, schools, shopping malls, warehouses, roads, railways and even wind farms. The Group now operates throughout Southern Africa and has regional offices in Centurion, Cape Town, Port Elizabeth and Namibia.
As of 2007, The Power Group streamlined its 12 subsidiary businesses. They are a level 2 B-BBEE contributor and have are 30% staff owned.

ABOUT THE BURSARY PROGRAMME – FIELDS COVERED
The Power Group started their bursary programme as a way to help students work towards a qualification in the construction or building industry, without having to worry about the high cost of tertiary studies.
Each year, bursaries are awarded to students currently studying (or intending to study) at University or University of technology. Bursaries are awarded within the following fields of study:
University students:

University of Technology students:
- Building Science
- Civil Engineering

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):
- South African citizen
- Completed Matric OR currently in Matric
- Studying or intend on studying within one of the aforementioned fields of study
- Studying or intend on studying at a recognised University or University of Technology in South Africa
- Intend on pursuing a career within the Building/ Construction/ Built Environment sector
