About the Opportunity
The City of Tshwane is recruiting two qualified Artisan Electricians to install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot street lighting systems and electrical distribution networks. The successful candidates will assist in ensuring the reliable delivery of electricity and public lighting services across the municipality.
Minimum Requirements
- Trade Certificate as an Electrician (Red Seal)
- At least 2 years' relevant experience in local authority electrical networks
- Valid Code C1 driver's licence
- Valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP)
- Physically fit and in good health
- Willingness to work overtime and standby duties
- Willingness to undergo criminal record checks and fingerprint verification
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair street lighting systems
- Troubleshoot electrical distribution network faults
- Conduct maintenance on municipal electrical infrastructure
- Ensure effective use of vehicles, tools, and equipment
- Comply with occupational health and safety requirements
- Support operational and maintenance activities within the department
- Assist with supervisory responsibilities when required

Salary Package
Salary Scale: R388,116 – R539,040 per annum
Estimated Total Remuneration Package: R525,933 – R718,031 per annum
Important Conditions
Applicants must:
- Be willing to work overtime and standby shifts
- Be prepared for deployment anywhere within the City of Tshwane as required
- Have no colour blindness or physical limitations that would affect the performance of electrical duties
