Dis-Chem Retail IT Infrastructure Internship 2022
The successful candidate will be joining the IT Team at Dis-Chem’s Midrand offices in Gauteng for the duration of the 12-month internship. As a Retail IT Infrastructure Intern, your duties and responsibilities include:
- Monitor operating system and server hardware installations
- Ensure data storage installation, monitoring,and support are accomplished accurately
- Perform backup installation and monitoring on production systems
- Email management and support
- Manage security policy and required patches on production systems
- Anti-virus installation monitoring
- Perform security awareness training regarding information technology
- Provide reports manage accurate logs of IT-related events
- Make sure internal customer concerns are addressed in the most timely manner
- Submit feedback to management regarding daily functions and projects

Who should apply?
Candidates will need to satisfy the following minimum eligibility criteria to apply:
- Holds a Btech or bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Systems Information, or Computer Science
- Completed Grade 12/matric/senior certificate
- A South African citizen and holds a valid driver’s license
- Owns a reliable mode of transportation
- No criminal or bad credit record on file

- Relevant knowledge in IT
- Able to speak, read, and write in English
- Honest and trustworthy
- Adheres to deadlines and highly motivated
- Capable of influencing, leading and motivating others
- Proficient with MS tools such as PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook
